A Local Favorite: First Street Roasters in Downtown Temple
There’s something special about places that invite you to slow down, the kind of spaces where life feels a little lighter the moment you walk in. Recently, I had the joy of doing a photoshoot with Serria from Echo Vision at one of Temple’s local favorites: First Street Roasters in downtown Temple.
From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect blend of cozy, creative, and community-centered.
A Space for Everyone
One of the things I love most about First Street Roasters is how welcoming it is for every season of life. If you’re a parent, this spot is a dream. There’s a lovely playground where you can sip your coffee (or tea!) while keeping an eye on your kids. It’s peaceful without feeling quiet, lively without feeling overwhelming.
Whether you’re studying, working, catching up with a friend, or simply enjoying a moment to yourself with a book or your Bible, this space truly meets you where you are.
A Tea Girly’s Take
While First Street Roasters is known for its coffee, I’ll happily admit I’m a tea girly, and their Earl Grey is one of my favorites. Warm, comforting, and familiar, it was the perfect companion throughout the shoot and honestly the kind of drink that encourages you to linger just a little longer.

Food Without Leaving the Building
If you find yourself getting hungry, because let’s be honest, that always happens, you’re in luck. Treno Pizzeria & Taproom is right next door, and you don’t even have to leave the building to grab a slice. One of my favorites is The Mediterranean with Chicken. Coffee dates that turn into pizza moments? We love a seamless transition.
Just Around the Corner
For those who love a fun outdoor scene, there’s a colorful mural just around the corner, a perfect backdrop if you’re exploring downtown or planning a photoshoot, as we did. It adds such a playful, artistic touch to the area and makes the whole experience feel curated yet effortless.

Working with Serria at Echo Vision was such a beautiful experience. She captured the warmth of the space and the quiet joy of being present, sipping tea, reflecting, and embracing a slower pace. It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t loud or busy, they’re soft, intentional, and full of peace.
If you’re ever in downtown Temple and looking for a place to gather, work, reflect, or simply breathe, First Street Roasters is absolutely worth the stop.
